BookCliff Vineyards Black Muscat Barrel Aged

Finally the Black Muscat is back. Back in February 2013 we embarked on our new bottle and label design for the Black Muscat, a dessert wine made from Black Muscat grapes and our own wine distilled. We decided on a new design using silk-screened bottles rather than a paper label. The entire process from design to production took much longer than anticipated. Last week we received the new bottles and we are very pleased with the result. I hope you like it too. Bottle and wine are a great match.

Wine, Cheese and Prosciutto Flights at BookCliff Vineyards

Come join us for our Love the Local festivity and taste for your self fabulous local wine, cheese and Prosciutto. We will be offering a flight of three wines paired with Prosciutto from the Black Cat Farm Bistro and cheese from Haystack Mountain Goat Dairy.

Veraison in the Vineyard at BookCliff

We are sprinting towards harvest if the start date of veraison is an indication. As the crop load in the vineyard is lower the grapes are ripening faster. We are prepared for the bird flocks as the nets are on. From now to harvest the work that can be done in the vineyard is limited. With the nets on in-row weeding is not possible anymore and spray applications for powdery milldew are not possible. Now is the time to empty the tanks and order the yeast to get ready for the new crop to arrive in the winery.

Jazz with your Ensemble

Instead of celebrating the start of the summer with Jazz we are going to have Jazz with your Ensemble towards the end of summer. What could be better than a fabulous five course dinner paired with our red blend Ensemble and other wines while listening to Jazz. This event will be held at the winery, 1501 Lee Hill Road #17 Boulder, on Saturday August 24th 2013 at 6:30pm. For reservations please go to www.bookcliffvineyards.com/events. 1. Roasted salmon with puff pastry palisade peaches and pea shoot.
2. Duck confit over arugula with marinated cherries.
3. Grilled summer vegetables with fresh mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes.
4. Seared buffalo short ribs with blue cheese.
5. Chocolate cake with berries.
