Bookcliff Crescendo Review - 90 points

Quote from the Blog on 2/28/17 "Of the two wines I tasted, the most impressive was their blend of Syrah, Petite Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Souzao called Crescendo (2013). This is a gorgeous, soul-stirring wine. Intriguing notes of cinnamon and coriander with floral highlights mix with dark and red berry fruit to yield a nose of some complexity and depth. The palate is rich and luscious with full bodied mocha permeating the layers of dark fruit. A slightly angular edginess gives the wine lift introducing a medium length, radiant finish that brings together concentrated spice notes with fruit that persists until the end in a grand finale.  Toasted oak plays a subtle supporting role and do the softly resonating tannins. This is a very satisfying wine and quite unique with Syrah and Petite Verdot forming an unusual marriage that seems made in heaven. Large and dimensional while remaining winsome and captivating, it’s too bad Valentine’s Day is past." Quote from foodandwineaesthetics.com

New Release at Bookcliff Vineyards - MALBEC 2015

Bookcliff Vineyards bottled its 2015 Malbec, not just in a 750ml regular bottle with label, but also in a handsome carafe that can be refilled at the winery. People told us about their great experience in Italy where they could their empty bottle and get it filled with wine. Now you can do it right here in Boulder. Lower your carbon foot-print and buy a Bookcliff Vineyards' Malbec in a carafe; no more recycling. Come on over and get started with the program today.

BookCliff Viognier 2014 fares well in blind tasting

Paula Mitchell from Exploring Colorado Wineries gave us some nice compliments for our 2014 Viognier. She tasted five Viogniers blind. Among them was a wine from Chile, California, Australia and France and Colorado (Bookcliff Vineyards). In the quest for something else than Chardonnay many regions planted Viognier and gave it a try. Two areas we recently visited, the Okanagan region in British Columbia and Amador county in California produce Viognier. And as Paula pointed out many Colorado wineries produce great Viognier.

Ulla & John at Wholefoods - Celebrating the Local

Wholefoods is celebrating small local producers and invited the owners for a photo shoot to their local store. The owners/vendors added to the buzz in the produce department where the photographer took the pictures in front of the produce. If was fun meeting other owners that we see regularly at the farmers markets in Boulder and Vail. As the Boulder store sells alcoholic beverages we mingled with corn, salad dressing, ice cream and other booze. It was fun to be the celebrity for the day.

2012 Cabernet Franc Release

We've kept you waiting long enough! After a long, fun day of bottling with our staff and volunteers, Cabernet Franc 2012 is ready to be tasted and purchased! This varietal is one of the major grapes grown worldwide, and grows especially well in Colorado. It has been known to be a great competitor in wine judging events and as a Reserve label in Colorado wineries. Our 2012 exhibits nice raspberry, cherry and mocha notes on the nose. It also has some nice acidity on the palate to complement the dark fruit and smooth tannins. Barrel aged for 18 months in French Oak, this wine's many layers is sure to please your senses! Cheers!
