2011 marks the second year of the Colorado Governors Cup, a wine competition for Colorado wines only. The awards ceremony is at the Governors mansion followed by a public tasting of all the award winning wines in the beautiful setting of the gardens at the mansion.BookCliff Vineyards was awarded two gold medals and best of category for the 2009 Petite Sirah and the 2009 Tempranillo. John Salazar, the agricultural commissioner, presented the awards. All day the weather was drizzly and gray, but luckily once we started pouring the wines the sun came out.
