Jacob
Harkins from
Colorado Wino arranged for an early Harvest Dinner at
Spuntino in Denver pairing each course with a Colorado wine. Wines included two whites, the
Sunnyside from
Bonaquisti Wine Company and a Riesling from
Guy Drew Vineyards. The reds served were A Cabernet
Sauvignon from
Canyon Wind Cellars, a
Petit Verdot from
Reeder Mesa and
BookCliff Vineyards Petite
Sirah. Just as the wines hit different notes and flavors exciting the taste buds, so did the dishes which included a pairing of peanut butter and jelly with Cabernet
Sauvignon. This sounds intriguing. Not growing up in the United States, the combination of peanut butter and jelly feels very exotic to me, coming from the country that invented
Nutella.
