Gold for BookCliff Vineyards

For the second year in a row BookCliff Vineyards wines were awarded gold medals at the annual Governor's Cup competition.

Two wines from BookCliff Vineyards received gold medals at the 2015 Governor's Cup Competition, the 2012 Cabernet Franc Reserve (gold) and the 2014 Viognier (double gold). Both wines were selected for the Governor's Cup case. The second year in a row two wines or more from BookCliff Vineyards were selected for the Governor's Cup case representing the excellence in Colorado wines.
The plan is to offer the Governor's Cup case at select wine stores for purchase.
This year there will be a celebration at the History Colorado Center in Denver on August 1st, 2015 and the public is invited. This is a great opportunity to taste the wines and chat with the winemakers who will be in attendance.

Merlot in Bloom at BookCliff Vineyards

Most people are not aware that grapes bloom, let alone what they look like. It is a rare sight, as just for one week in late spring the tip of the grape clusters burst into tiny yellow flowers emanating a sweet smell. This year is especially magnificent as the cluster in particular of the Merlot grapes are almost twice the size of usual. I was fortunate to visit the vineyard in Palisade this week and snapped a picture. Enjoy!
